For this soup I started with a whole chicken that I cut up to make broth and roasted the meat for the soup. It’s my first all by myself chicken butchering and I’m proud of my work. The recipe that I followed can be found at https://www.thespruceeats.com/chicken-and-wild-rice-soup-5094169
The soup smelled amazing as it cooked!
The final product was excellent. It was rich and creamy and full of flavor. With the exception of the wild rice, all ingredients were easy to find locally. I went to 3 stores and non had plain wild rice. I was able to find a rice and wild rice blend that I ended up using. Next time I see wild rice I'll be buying it so I can make this soup again.
I give this a 4.5 out of 5 stars. It was even better for lunch the next day. Tim said it was rich and yummy. He is not a wild rice fan so it was only okay in the soup. He liked it enough to eat if for lunch the next day.
Here is my running list of soups starting with my favorite

This soup was rich, creamy, and hearty -- big chunks of roasted chicken and no lentils, quinoa, or celery.
